After long 11 years, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has revoked the suspension of broadcasting of the private satellite channel Diganta Television. The ministry revoked the suspension on Thursday (August 8) in view of the appeal of the television authorities. A copy of the order has also been sent to the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).

Confirming the receipt of the application, Director General (Spectrum) of BTRC, Brigadier General Md. Moniruzzaman Jewel told Djibangla, "We have received the letter." In view of this, now they will be allotted 6 MHz wave from Bangabandhu satellite in C band.

The channel is expected to return to broadcasting in this spectrum.

Earlier in 2013, the Awami League government had ‘temporarily’ stopped the broadcasting of the channel, accusing it of hatred, spreading rumors and irresponsibility.
